The connection between EDI and workplace conflict, specifically harassment, discrimination, and violence, is often overlooked, as EDI is commonly regarded as a “nice-to-have”. This oversight can increase the risk of health and safety issues, financial costs, and legal repercussions. Having EDI and human rights embedded into an organization’s policies, procedures, processes, practices, and programs will help manage risk by preventing workplace conflict and, ultimately, eliminating systemic barriers.
Join us for an information session on how EDI and human rights are essential tools to prevent workplace conflict and manage associated risks.
Sensitive Content Warning: The workshop will discuss issues related to racial discrimination, racism, and sexism that may be traumatizing and triggering. Participant discretion advised.
Facilitator: Jennifer Mak is a Human Rights and Equity Strategist where her consultancy focuses on helping organizations build and maintain healthy work environments that are free from discrimination, harassment, and violence by using an intersectional, anti-oppression approach to embed human rights, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in their systems, structures, policies, procedures, processes, and practices.
